Epoisses by Rodolphe Le Meunier

Superbly creamy, runny, gooey as it reaches room temperature, Epoisses is a nutty, buttery and savory cow’s milk cheese from Burgundy that gets more pungent with age – this is definitely in the stinky cheese category. With the typical orange rind – compliments of a wash in Marc de Bourgogne brandy - Epoisses is a classic and beloved French cheese that has been produced for centuries and has coveted AOC designation, which means its place of origin and production methods are both protected and carefully supervised.

We’re not kidding when we tell you this cheese is creamy – you’ll want to have a spoon handy! Cut a hole at the top and scoop out the unctuous cheese to spread over a fresh baguette or cracker. This velvety cheese is encased in a lovely wooden box, which helps the cheese breathe and holds it together. Serve on a plate with fresh fruit like grapes, and pair with a bold Burgundy wine.

This particular Epoisses is specially selected and aged by one of France’s best and most acclaimed cheesemakers and affineurs, Rodolphe Le Meunier. With his experience and expert eye, he carefully selects the best and most flavorful wheels.
